Regular feature! "What I come home to"

Luckily for us, we didn't have to get a new chopping board.
The white residue wasn't mold. It was just potato. (And the green stuff, beans)
To think of the trouble we might have had gone through to buy a new board;
heavy traffic to the nearest store; looking for a parking space; choosing a good board; waiting in line at the cashier; and heavy traffic (again) on the way home.

Regular feature! "What I come home to"

This piece of carrot was destined to be broken apart in my housemates' gastric juices, and every fiber of its being used to scrub their colons squeaky clean.
It is so lucky to have escaped from their "Salad of Horror" and ravenous maws, while remaining undetected for God-knows-how-long.
This portrait of survival was captured yesterday.
But alas. How long, oh, how long shall it remain where it is?
Like a refugee hides in the jungles of South East Asia evading capture and possible death, how long shall it remain there without hope of retrieval?
Oh, the humanity!
